Wilma II

Finally, maybe, Floridians will find out what Hurricane Wilma has in store for them today. It had weakened to a Category 2 with 100 mph sustained winds after coming ashore Friday as a monstrous Category 4 hurricane packing 145 mph winds.
Most expected it to reach Florida as a Category 1, with winds of 74 to 99 mph. But they weren't ruling out it being as strong as a Category 3, with winds of at least 111 mph.Emergency planners started mandatory evacuations in Collier and Lee counties Saturday that sent thousands of residents north. Hotels along Interstate 75 in Sarasota County reported full bookings for today, Monday and Charlotte County canceled school for Monday.
Sarasota and Manatee school officials were expected to make a decision today.Selected shelters in Charlotte, Sarasota and DeSoto counties will open today. Sarasota County is also recommending evacuations for people living in low-lying areas, mobile home parks and on barrier islands.
